Downtown Edmonton: Chateau Lacombe

Recently stayed at the Crown Plaza Chateau Lacombe in downtown Edmonton and was not impressed.

Checked into the room and noticed that neither I nor my roommate had the "good night sleep" amenities: Eye Mask, Ear Plugs, Lavender Linen Spray, etc.

I only mention this because living in a Fort Nelson there isn't as much population as Edmonton has.
So missing out on the eye mask and ear plugs was a little frustrating because of the noise.

The curtains had some tears, stains and just plain ugly.  The windows were very dirty, almost like they haven't been cleaned in months.

On my first night I went to Bellamy's lounge on a Friday night about 9:40PM.  Sat at our table and was told by one of he employees that our server would be over shortly.

After we waited about 15 minutes for service we were given menus and told we should just get room service, which is $4 service fee plus 15% tip.

We asked if we could just eat there because the restaurant was going to be open until 11PM anyways.

Which she told us we'd have to do it quick if we wanted to eat in the lounge. We ended up ordering a club house sandwich each but the bacon tasted old, it was stiff and flavourless....bacon should never have those two adjectives in the same sentence.

I guess she just didnt take pride in her job and wanted to leave because it was a Friday night...oh well I know they have lost business from me for this incident.

We obviously didn't learn our lesson when we went back to the lounge on our last night for some nachos...we though "hey nachos are easy to make and hard to mess up"...well the ramekins used for dipping the chips were smaller than the chips and as a result not nearly enough for the plate of nachos that tasted burnt and had remnants of cheese.
